FAQ: Everything you need to know about your Keops solar terminal
Operation & use
We recommend that you leave the terminal to charge in the sun for 24 to 48 hours after receipt, even if it is already partially charged. To switch it on, wait until it's completely dark (or temporarily cover the solar panel). Then press and hold the button for 2-3 seconds. The terminal will then switch to mode 1 by default.
To find out the current lighting mode, test in the dark or with the solar panel covered. Press the button several times: each press changes the light intensity and, therefore, the mode. Mode 1 corresponds to the lowest intensity, and mode 3 to the highest.
No, the bollard adapts automatically to the selected mode. In mode 1 and mode 2, it switches itself on at dusk and off at dawn, with no intervention required.
In mode 3, it remains permanently off, activating only when motion is detected, before switching off automatically after 25 seconds. You can change mode at any time by pressing the button on the underside of the lamp.
Maintenance & longevity
If the bollard lights up for less time, this may be due to a lack of sunlight or a battery that is starting to wear out. In winter or in bad weather, it's normal for the range to be reduced, as the solar charge is weaker. To avoid a complete discharge every night, we recommend using mode 3, which activates lighting only when motion is detected. Regular cleaning of the solar panel also improves recharging.
Yes, it's designed for outdoor use and resists rain, strong winds and humid conditions. Its stainless steel structure with anti-corrosion treatment means it can even withstand salty environments. Its protection rating guarantees optimum watertightness, ensuring long-lasting durability.
The battery is designed to last for many years. Like any rechargeable component, it will eventually lose its autonomy over time, but it can be easily replaced without changing the whole lamp.
Yes, but with shorter days and less intense sunlight, autonomy can be reduced. To maximize its effectiveness in winter, it's best to position it in a well-exposed spot and use mode 3, which conserves the battery by activating lighting only when motion is detected.
Service & warranty
If the bollard no longer lights up, first check that it has been exposed to full sunlight for several hours before recharging. Also check that the solar panel is clean and free of dust and dirt. If the problem persists, it may be a battery problem. In this case, our after-sales service can guide you in replacing or diagnosing the lamp.
The warranty covers manufacturing defects and malfunctions related to electronic components. It does not cover normal wear and tear, particularly that of the battery, which is a replaceable consumable.
The battery is an interchangeable element designed to extend the life of your lamp. When it reaches the end of its cycle, you can easily replace it in just a few minutes. Simply open the battery compartment on the underside of the lamp and insert the new, compatible battery. Replacement batteries are available from our customer service department.
