How do you install a safe, standard-compliant outdoor lighting system?

Above all, make sure your outdoor luminaires are certified to at least IP44, and even IP65 for exposed areas. All cables must be laid in waterproof sheaths, with a 230V power supply via a 30 mA differential circuit breaker. For connections, use watertight junction boxes and connectors complying with NF C 15-100. Install your lights at a sufficient height to avoid direct contact with water or humidity, and give preference to low-energy LED systems, like those from Lumihome.
